Michael Endres

Michael Endres, born 1961 in Sonthofen, Germany. Study with Karl Hermann Mongrovius and Klaus Schilde in München, in New York at the Juilliard School und with Peter Feuchtwanger in London.

Prizewinner among others at the Géza Anda Competition, Artists International Competition (New York), first prize and special prize at the International Schubert Competition. Piano evenings in Europe and the USA, at Munich Piano Summer and Salzburg Festival, in the Berlin Philharmonic, at Musikverein Vienna, in Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Wigmore Hall London. Soloist with Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, among others chamber music partner of Hermann Prey. Extensive discography. Professor at the Hanns Eisler University in Berlin until 2009. Today professor at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. After a concert, Michael Endres wrote in 2002: "The former brilliance of the Bechstein legend has returned. Many congratulations on the new concert grand piano."
