Jura Margulis

Jura Margulis, born 1968 in Leningrad, studied with his famous father, Vitaly Margulis, Leon Fleisher in Baltimore (USA) and at the Fondazione per il Pianoforte in Cadenabbia (Italy).

Margulis is award winner of 12 international competitions and received the Pro-Europa-Preis of the Europäischen Kulturstiftung. Concerts worldwide, permanent member of the Fulbright Trio, piano duo with Martha Argerich. Participant at such festivals as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Zelt-Musik-Festival, Beppu-Argerich Festival (Japan), Berliner Festwochen. Performances with the SWF-Orchester Baden-Baden, Montreal Symphony Orchestra unter Charles Dutoit as well as Russian National Orchestra. His recordings for ARS MUSICI und Oehms Classics have been distinguished many times, among others with the Prize of the German Record Critics. Jura Margulis holds master classes worldwide. Today Jura Margulis holds a professorship at the University of Arkansas (USA). His last CD for Oehms Classics was recorded on a C. Bechstein concert grand piano D 282.
